Pros

-8 years old and still a startup -revolving door. always hiring -focused on attempting to build a company culture.

Cons

-Terminated me without cause or warning. Only thing that the CEO said was that it was best for the company. (wife was two weeks away from due date). -Toxic sales culture. Everyone scared to give input in fear of outcome -Direct report and his colleague were master micro managers - focusing mainly on styling or critiquing vs actual coaching and support.

This is Karl, CEO of Evergage. To the person who wrote this review, as I said to you personally when we spoke, I enjoyed getting to know you. I am sorry that it didn’t work out for you to continue at Evergage, and I am very sorry that the timing of when we let you go was just 2 weeks from your wife’s due date. As you know, the team learned of this fact as we were letting you go. While I’m sure it didn’t help much with the stress of having a baby while looking for a job, we did try to help a little by giving you additional severance and health care coverage. To those reading the review, we do have a performance plan that we will put people on if needed and when appropriate. This sales person was with Evergage for less than 6 months. During those months, I know much of our team came to appreciate this person’s humor and friendliness. However, as this person was exiting training/ramp-up (about 4 months) and beginning to try to sell, it was clear to me personally (from an onsite customer visit together) as well as to my sales management team that this person did not understand our product, market or customer, and was not someone who we would want in front of customers representing us. As these were deeper things that a performance plan wouldn’t address, we decided to part ways. In my opinion, if it is clear that someone will not thrive in a role, you are doing them as well as the company a disservice to pretend otherwise. I am sure there are sales situations in other companies where this person will thrive and I look forward to that happening.

Pros

Evergage is a very special place to work. Independent of redefining how the world experiences the internet and having some of the sharpest engineers in the market- at it's core, Evergage is humble. Everyone at the company has an aptitude for success in their respective role- with little / no ego attached. The culture that co-founders, Karl and Greg, have created encourages everyone, regardless of title, to address leadership when he / she has an idea. The culture at Evergage to me is like one big friend group who are on the same mission every day. When we all go grab a drink across the street on Friday at 5, it isn't because we 'have to,' it's because we want to. I really feel like the opportunity at Evergage in our market and in my career is endless. Evergage has a 'get your work done' mentality. The company is really flexible... No one makes you feel bad if you need to come in late or leave early. Evergagers don't call self-identify as 'Karl's kids' for nothing... Our CEO is super genuine, inspiring, natural born leader, and a pleasure to work for.

Cons

Everything is changing all of the time: new hires, processes, sales territories, tech stack, etc... It's the nature of a growing startup in a competitive space. A lot of the time, we are doing things for the first time, which means that we can make mistakes. However, it also means, that everyone in the company has the opportunity to help shape what the future looks like.
