The job is fine as a regular instructor, however once you are a supervisor it is unnecessarily intense. - Residential Supervisor Evergreen Center Employee Review

Pros

Tons of available over time allowing you to work hard and quickly make money. There are also great coworkers, great students, and you really feel as though you make a difference when you see kids learning new skills over time. Some supervisors are actually understanding and will work with their subordinates however it's a luck of the draw.

Cons

Management is very quick to place blame, management requires an excessive amount of paperwork for supervisor positions and functionally no extra time to complete it outside of your work hours. They state that supervisors get 8 hours of paperwork time every week but will regularly revoke that. Even then it's not enough time for the workload.

Pros

The organization actively supports career growth by sponsoring postgraduate programs and providing continuous learning opportunities. Current staff are given priority and are strongly encouraged to apply first for internal job openings. The workplace fosters a multicultural environment and promotes diversity, welcoming employees from all walks of life.

Cons

On certain days, staffing levels may be low, so employees should be prepared to be mandated to remain on shift for extended hours as needed.

Pros

If you want to work in special education, it's a great place to start getting experience. They prefer to promote internally so there's lots of opportunity for growth. Unlimited overtime so if you really need extra money you can pick up as many hours as you want. The kids are awesome to work with. Most staff are really great. You feel like you're making a difference.

Cons

The scheduling often doesn't line up with what time you're scheduled. Very often you'll have to wait a half hour to an hour after your scheduled time before you're able to leave. It's paid but still, it sucks if you have to be somewhere after work but are stuck waiting for someone else to get there. Also the insurance sucks

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. The important work that we do at Evergreen supports the lives of so many individuals and families in need, and we’re happy to hear that this work has impacted you. To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students, our Staffing Policy mandates that there is always a sufficient level of personnel on duty to fulfil the Minimum Staffing Requirements. The required staffing ratio must meet specified levels, which can sometimes result in staff from the previous shift remaining on duty due to circumstances that are beyond our control. Thank you for leaving a review, and we invite you to reach out to us at contactus@evergreenctr.org to further discuss your comments.
