Pros

You tell them when you are available a week in advance, the venues they serve are in the London area which worked for me

Sorry to say but in my experience the way that staff at evolve communicate with you is terribly unprofessional, it is such a shame but they were quite sarcastic and used personal insults and put downs. At the induction a group of us were told that we'd be working in top hotels, in reality we were stewarding at banquets, lifting and carrying heavy tables and chairs you will be asked to sign a disclaimer so that if you are injured in doing the heavy lifting they are not responsible. There were no secure lockers at several of the venues I worked at and one lady I worked with had her purse stolen from one of the venues. At another venue we were told by the venue Manager after a 10 hour shift that we were expected to stay later and if we didn't we wouldn't get paid for the whole shift. Complaints to Evolve about our treatment on jobs was met with suspicion and disbelief it was automatically their view is that we were all liars and several emails with personal insults followed. There are a billion and 1 hospitality agencies in London the market is completely saturated with them so I decided that there was really no need to continue with them.

I have never been treated so poorly by any employer in my life. I worked with this agency without any problems, then without warning, without explanation, and without any conversation, I was completely shut out. Every single time I applied for or accepted a shift it was cancelled immediately. Not once did anyone pick up the phone, send an email, or have the basic decency to tell me why. I chased, I followed up, I asked repeatedly and was met with total silence every single time. As a single parent, this income is not optional. It is how I keep a roof over my child's head and food on the table. Being systematically blocked while being completely ignored is not just unprofessional, it is cruel. This agency made a decision about my work without ever giving me the chance to defend myself, understand what happened, or even know what I was supposed to have done wrong. No warning. No conversation. No answers. Just cancellations and silence while I struggled to survive. The lack of transparency, the lack of communication, and the complete disregard for the people who depend on this work is disgusting. If you are a single parent, if you have responsibilities, if you need reliable and fair treatment, stay far away from this agency. They will smile at your face and quietly shut every door without ever telling you why."
