Pros

Had I written this a year ago I could have said - "the non-management employees in Philadelphia, or "Resources" as we're so affectionately referred to by management, are great. There is absolutely ZERO company events or any sort of team/moral building, but yet happy hours are scheduled monthly, through the efforts of the resources." However this is no longer the case as almost all of these employees have left in the last 10 months and the few that remain, are looking for the exits.

Cons

1) They do not have a HR Director. The previous HR Director quit because the owner refused to implement any of their recommendations, which came directly from employee feedback. From what I've heard, there have been 3-4 HR Directors in the last 6 years. They leave once it becomes obvious that none of their recommendations will ever be taken seriously. 2) There is ZERO 401k matching at all. The owner claims it's because he pays competitively, but if you compare Excelacom's salary to the average in your city for the same job, you will see how little water that claim holds. 3) This isn't a real consulting company, it's all staff augmentation. Also, they had to fire employees in the previous years, because they kept hiring people when there weren't any positions. 4) There is ZERO on the job training - even for recent college graduates. 5) 90% of the Managers are terrible. They have the emotional intelligence of a rock. Almost the good ones left - they were smart to leave. 6) The company leaders are inept and keep over promising and under-delivering, while the lovable "Resources" bare the brunt of it. 7) The leaders also keep shooting themselves in the foot with bone-headed moves. They have pissed off all their previous major clients and are now trying to find others, but they overcharge for everything. 8) Year End reviews are a joke. Your goals and objectives are typically created by your manager a week before your reviews take place (as I said before manager's are incompetent). The raises/bonuses (if you are lucky enough to get one) aren't given out until Mid/Late April and communication regarding when they will be announced is non-existent. There is a lot more I could write, but I advise 99% of you to stay away. The only way I would recommend taking this job is if you absolutely need a paycheck, and even then I recommend keeping the job hunt going.

Pros

Communication with leadership has been clear and supportive, and I’ve had the flexibility I need to be successful in my role. I also appreciate that my contributions are recognized even as a contractor, which isn’t always the case at other companies.

Cons

Access to certain internal tools or updates can be slower for contractors, but it hasn’t impacted my ability to do the work.

Pros

- was offered a bagel right after getting fired, and disclosing my assault from another employee. "Bagel Friday," right?

Cons

- I worked here until 2015. Micromanaging galore. using only emails as correspondence while sitting right next to an employee. being told to do things outside of my job description, like make dozens of booklets. told to "fake it until you make it" in terms of numbers. literally assaulted by a coworker at a coworkers birthday party, and told there was nothing they could do about it since it wasnt a company event. was told I was "milking" taking care of my mother who literally almost died, which lead to a crippling depression for me. Oh! and employees were instructed by management to leave positive glassdoor reviews!! omg omg stay away.
