Cons
Everything else: This is a midsized pharmaceutical company that is trying to break into the big leagues and the CEO along with their senior "leadership" will sacrifice what is necessary to get there. This wouldn't be so bad if the company wasn't so top heavy, meaning that there are a lot of people in leadership positions that do not know how to people manage, train or provide resources to allow for the tasks to be completed. One of those resources is time; again, because it is so top heavy, those of us, like myself, who were at the bottom of the hierarchy, were just crushed by the workload and constant reprioritization of tasks and goals. What makes it all worse is that your managers, who are all directors and above, will never admit culpability; they will deny any accountability when it comes to the performance of their juniors. Considering the lack of training, the high workload and the constant demoralizing culture of "you aren't doing enough", people will leave and the high turnover rate is a sign of that. When you request help as your inundated, they will continue to pile on tasks and projects, letting you know along the way that if you can't handle it, then "maybe working at Exelixis isn't meant for you". Just stay away; the mental fatigue is not work the salary.
