Pros

The only pro is the daytime shifts.

Cons

I honestly don’t even know how to sum up my time at exemplar healthcare. I generally found it like a bullying culture and a school playground. If your face didn’t fit you wouldn’t do well. (This was not managed by management and I feel that people could do as they pleased) Staff that order McDonald’s and eat it on the unit, some staff on their phones and just a general lack of care. Management didn’t follow covid guidelines and never wore masks and would only put them on when visitors came to the home, meanwhile all staff had to endure long shifts with masks on. Absolutely 0% confidentiality and poor management that ultimately didn’t care as long as the “stats looked good” so many staff have left recently and I truly hope that head office take the time to really look at this and why this is happening. Not only for the staff that do care’s well being but for the service users that have to live there.

Pros

Working with the service users was the most rewarding part of the job. Most staff members were friendly and approachable

Cons

There has been a high turnover of staff, which appears to be directly linked to management behaviour and the overall working environment. The workplace has a toxic culture where bullying is often present and not properly dealt with. Management comes across as condescending and controlling, frequently treating staff as if they are incapable rather than supporting or developing them. Favouritism and cliques are very noticeable and strongly influence how staff are treated, leaving those outside the inner circle feeling isolated, unsupported, and undervalued.

Thank you for leaving us a review, we’re glad to hear your positive comments about working alongside the residents and other staff members. Ensuring our homes are led by great managers is a key priority for us. Thankfully, our colleague survey results suggest most colleagues have a great relationship with their manager. However, we’re disappointed to hear this has not been your experience. We’d be grateful if you could email hr@exemplarhc.com to provide further information so that we can fully investigate.
