Pros
- Brilliant team, top to bottom. There's a lot of intellectually brilliant people, who set aside their ego (mostly) to push the company forward towards success. - Interesting work. The intersection of network security, big data, and cloud SaaS rides a lot of the waves that are changing the enterprise IT space. People have leeway to propose thejr own features and drive the product forward. Some novel technical challenges as well. - Business is going splendid and customers are getting onboarded rapidly - Positioned in a market with a team that can really dominate a high-value vertical. It's a chance to build a very valuable company from the ground up. - People are valued here. I can make my own choices, be held accountable for those choices, and do well if I deliver value. - Transparent. And not the Silicon Valley "say you're transparent but shade the truth". Everything is up for respectful discussion and I feel plugged into all of the deals as an engineer. - Small enough that there's a lot of opportunity for personal, technical and career growth. - Fun. I legitimately enjoy my co-workers presence and personalities. We hang out after work at a reasonable cadence. However, there's no pressure to do it if you're busy or want to do something else.
Cons
I don't really have much in the way of complaints. Small companies can be a bit chaotic at times, and we don't have all the processes that we probably should have down, but that's a pro and a con.
