Pros

Pay isn't *terrible* so it's certainly an option if you're looking for an engineering job in this field. Occasionally they provided free lunches. There are non-work events, for anyone interested.

Cons

Benefits are below industry standard, but at least they exist. Their covid-19 response was poor for at least the first few months of the pandemic. It seemed like the initial precautions like staggered shifts came from senior engineers rather than upper management. There was no enforcement of these precautions either, with groups of people hanging out in common areas. People constantly walked around maskless, even into offices of people who they acknowledged wanted to follow mask guidelines. They did nothing to stop the spread of misinformation, such as various engineers touting unproven treatments (we all know how hydroxychloroquine turned out) and walking the line of believing it's all a hoax. Aside from the pandemic response, we also had to deal with political microaggressions. Obviously, this is an industry that is more right-leaning than other engineering fields. That would be fine if anyone knew how to keep their political beliefs out of the office and not denigrate anyone left of center, not shame people for being "brainwashed" by public schools, and stop leaving propaganda all over the kitchen area. I have strong political beliefs, but I recognized the workplace is not the environment to promote fringe conspiracy theories and other propaganda.
