Pros

Decent pay, in comparison to other industrial bakeries. Weekly pay is good.

Cons

Company doesn't care about staff members personal lives. There's no family events, not even a Christmas party. There's no staff morale. Garbage pizza and miniscule bonus when doing overtime on Saturdays.

We appreciate your comment on Glassdoor. For the past 2 years and coming up again in January, FGF hires a third party company who conducts a Team Member engagement survey for us. The purpose of this survey is to better understand what’s important to our team members as we continue to grow. In addition, we have many other opportunities for two way communication through what we call “Let’s Connect” sessions as well as post hire interviews and team huddles (to name a few) It’s through this type of communication that we learn what is most important to our team members, things like, night premiums, weekend premiums, and the opportunity through our job posting program to apply for other opportunities (which really supports our strategy of “home grown” talent). In fact, in the past 2 years we have promoted over 200 team members in our plants, many of these into leadership roles. We also want to point out that although we don’t have a Christmas party (don’t forget, not everyone celebrates Christmas) what we do have to celebrate together is our annual event called “Smackdown”. This is a fun event that promotes team work and highlights the diversity of our team members! This event in addition to our Town Hall meetings several times a year, really help to create an atmosphere of fun and celebration. Of course, we are a food company so everything we do involves food! We are sorry you don’t like the free pizza, however many of our team members tell us how much they appreciate this small token.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Flexible hybrid work.

Cons

Constant layoffs. I was laid off 7 months after starting, while on a business trip in a Kroger parking lot, with no explanation given. Layoff process was pathetic, no communication and had to threaten a lawyer to receive my severance payout. American politics are often discussed by Canadian upper management. Foul, unprofessional language is frequently used. Very unprofessional, unstable work environment. I would recommend looking anywhere else for employment.
