Cons
FINRA is in an identity crisis. Leadership has abandoned the “people first” values that once set the organization apart. Return-to-office mandates keep climbing with no real business justification. Employees come into the offices to just take Zoom calls while leaders insist it’s about “collaboration.” The real issue is leadership. The MC is out of touch, and too many VPs are not strong leaders. Many of them got their jobs by playing the game and managing up, not by delivering results. Some are actively making their teams’ work harder, yet they’re protected because they know how to look good to the MC. This has created a culture where poor performance at the top is ignored, while high performers either burn out or leave. Career growth is almost nonexistent. Employees are told to complete IDPs, but without visible career pathways, it feels meaningless.
