Pros

Most of my coworkers were great, friendly, and helpful. They actually cared about making a fun experience. For that I give culture and diversity 2 stars each. The only pro I have about management is that scheduling was flexible. For that I give 3 stars.

Cons

The owners are terrible and management sucks. Schedules were made weekly and not posted until the night before. The manager was immature and played favorites. A lot of times it seemed like he didn’t know what he was doing or just wasn’t good at what he did. The way the business was run was a train wreck, and that’s being nice. The bar/kitchen was always running out of food/drink. We were constantly understaffed and when we weren’t people were sent home to save labor, making us understaffed. Things were constantly breaking and whenever we tried to give input on how we could make the experience better no one cared. We all found out through social media that Fantasy Lab would be closing in 3 weeks. When we asked about it no one would tell us directly whether it was temporary or for good. They wouldn’t give out letters of termination so coworkers of mine who really needed unemployment to hold them over till they could find another job couldn’t file for it. In our last week they were in town and wouldn’t even acknowledge us but made sure to complain to the manager if we did any little thing he didn’t like. There’s plenty of other times they’ve been disrespectful to other employees but those aren’t my stories to tell. The owners don’t care about their workers or the customers, all they care about is making money

Pros

Nice environment as far as the decor goes. Nice guests. Above-average pay for a non-union position.

Cons

*Super-high standards with a checklist of rudimentary chores that are done just for the sake of doing them. *They reprimand you if you're left having to spend extra time completing your closing routine even though the people who complete it on time are cutting corners that management doesn't see. *Expect you to learn the menu and all the drink recipes but don't offer to pay you for your time, as is standard. *Rather than actually train workers they just fire you if you can't arbitrarily make the cut but they don't tell you that you're fired; they just refuse to schedule you hoping you'll get the message. I opened this place when it rebranded as Colors of Mexico and was, at one point, one of the few people who stuck with it when others were just quitting because of the bleak outlook this place portrayed. After a few months, my shifts went down to once a week and my last day working there they brought me into the office to write me up for something that I tried clarifying I was told to do but they wouldn't change their position on it. After that I was still part of the WhatsApp group and part of the the scheduling app but then they figured out that I was still there months later and took me off. So in other words, I got fired but nobody told me about it. If you want to know how disorganized this place is, look no further than that one example.
