Pros
I've had the opportunity to help build and scale the recruiting function at several organizations throughout my career, and Felix Construction has been one of the most rewarding experiences. Over the past year, I've watched the company make significant investments in its people, systems, and long-term strategy. Leadership has intentionally brought in subject matter experts across the business and empowered them to improve their areas of responsibility. Rather than getting bogged down in bureaucracy, decisions are made quickly, good ideas are welcomed regardless of where they come from, and people are trusted to do what they were hired to do. As the person responsible for building our recruiting function, I've been given the resources, support, and autonomy needed to create meaningful change. There is very little ego, very little red tape, and a genuine willingness from leaders to listen, adapt, and continuously improve. The culture is what keeps me here. The employees care deeply about each other, our customers, and the work we do. People are approachable, collaborative, and willing to step in to help when needed. For a growing construction company, that's not something I take for granted. I'm proud of what we've accomplished and excited about where the company is headed.
Cons
Like any company experiencing rapid growth, processes and communication sometimes need time to catch up with the pace of the business. The good news is that leadership recognizes these challenges and is actively investing in solutions, technology, and talent to support the next stage of growth.
