2017 was a very bad year for Fidelis. CEO let go after nine years and every other C level left or was asked to leave soon there after. Sales Management all left in 2017/early 18. Owned by Marlin Equity who put in an interim CEO in early 2017 who killed the culture of the company. He was a glorified product engineer who fell into a title. He was brutal on sales calls, alienated his staff, crass and overall an unpleasant person. He hired his buddies from Forcepoint, who are all just as bad. Manage by intimidation, fear you’ll get fired, incompetent, talks out of both sides of their mouths etc. most of the sale engineers left when the SE directors left, so that part of the org is rebuilding and that takes months for an SE to get fully trained.
The products aren’t as good as we all thought. Their POC success rate is abysmal, no matter what they tell you. They’ve lost a decent amount of customers, renewal rates took a huge dive and they’re not winning many net new customers. This could be due to the massive amount of attrition that happened last year. Their endpoint product can’t scale well, has trouble integrating with their network product and the deception tool doesn’t work either. The product is expensive and the competition in the marketplace, especially on endpoint makes it very tough to get far into a deal.
