Pros
I started with the opening of adult use in CT and loved my job for the first year. I worked with some highly talented and dedicated employees and was able to move up into a lead position within the first year. When I started passion and knowledge was rewarded.
Cons
Once into a lead position the expectations constantly changed. While this was supposed to be more of an overwatch and support position, I was essentially shackled to a register waiting on customers, while somehow expected to get paperwork, training, and managerial tasks done at the same time, and the list of the additional work just kept growing as the managers above got more slapped on them from above. When I complained that I wasn’t able to learn new skills I had my store manager plainly tell me that my development was not a priority for him. Somehow though, that was better than having the regional director(who had originally been my manager and hired me on) tell me he put me in the position to develop me further. By the time I left he was ignoring requests to meet/discuss my issues. Also, the issues I had brought to him about my direct management were never addressed (or even brought up by senior management according to them)
