      Pros

      Great way to build relationships with local companies, many opportunities to learn about website design and web technologies, good first job to get your foot in the door if you're trying to get into tech

      Cons

      Lots of office politics, gossip, and drama. Popularity is more important than talent, skill, or hard work. Inconsistent training. Management is critical of employees on a personal level. Lots of "do as I say, not as I do" from management, for example owners and managers are frequently late for meetings and absent from work. Frequent write-ups with no actionable feedback.

      As CEO of the new Firefly, I appreciate and sadly understand what you wrote about in 2017. Since Jan 2020, we have rebuilt the organization and put in a new management structure. I feel we have addressed most if not all the challenges we had in management back then. We still do work hard. But I feel we have fostered a more supportive and communicative organization.

      Pros

      Our fully remote team seeks ways to bring solutions to the challenges we each face. This is both in the workplace and, where appropriate, outside of work.

      Cons

      As a small company, we are still working very hard to keep our financials strong. The balance sheet continues to improve, so I continue to hope that compensation can grow more for our very dedicated staff.
