Pros
Excellent home time. You get home most places every day, every other day, or every few days depending on which routes you run. Working with managers and dispatch was awesome, they always went above and beyond to make sure I was getting paid for any extras I did, such as unexpected double-drop &hooks at the customers, or unexpected driver unload, or if the D/h load I'd gotten dispatched on wasn't ready yet, I'd get detention pay. They swap your truck to a new one when it hits around 500,000 miles.
Cons
Pay is very low compared to industry average. I worked for many different locations, and the pay was vastly different because of the different freight accounts that each terminal runs. Kroger, bakery, paper, are most common. You could be paid by the day, by the hour, or by the mile depending on what that terminal loads all are. Equipment is okay, some places have on-site maintenance mechanics. Just get rid of the auto-braking PLEASE!!!! The truck slams on the brakes if the radar gets covered with a little bit of ice, snow, or even fog!
