Pros
Five Nines is a great place for an engineer to grow their career. There is a solid career path with opportunities to move up. Sometimes almost too fast. The other people on the team care a lot about their clients and what is happening around them. People pitch in when the going gets rough. The culture is a combination of work hard play hard. We definitely put in a full days work, and at the same time there are a lot of little breaks or fun things. Lots of food all the time (donuts, bagels), and some fun events like Office Olympics. I think the leadership team and owners really care about the company. They don't always make the right decisions, and sometimes it feels like we change too much, but their hearts are in the right place. Despite the missteps we have continued to grow. They are doing a lot more with wellness this year which is great to see. Little things like reimbursing me for buying a step tracker. Trending in the right direction, especially now that we are focused on managed services and not midmarket.
Cons
As stated above, there have been a lot of changes. Sometimes communication around those changes is not as clear as it should be. There has also been some turnover in management that has been hard to deal with. Seems like pretty standard growing pains. For those wanting to just punch a clock, this probably isn't the place to be. You have to really like working with technology and clients.
