This is by far the most toxic, horrendous and awful place to work I have ever experienced. When I first joined the business, I was warned about the toxic culture and the bullying nature of the CEO by multiple recruiters - as well as the employees that were there at the time but were all exiting the business. When I first started, everyone was leaving/had left which I found odd but I was assured the CEO was retiring and stepping down. In fact, an entire leadership team was hired to change things up only for her not to listen to their advice but undermine, control and seem to get a kick out of uprooting everyone - then criticise everyone around her but herself - and then push everyone out of the business....(Unless of course you're a fan of the BBC and only secured BBC coverage... so naturally she didn't like any one).
I read the reviews when I was interviewing, and I dismissed them because I didn't think them possible for a business in this day and age. But my god. To anyone looking to join this business, please don't - for your own mental health. You will kick yourself 6 months down the line when you realise everything everyone said on Glassdoor is 100% accurate. It is a truly, truly horrendous place to work and when you feel like you are going absolutely insane, doubting your ability, a shell of your former self - you will revisit these posts and realise - it's not actually me - it is just history repeating itself. It's time for the CEO to truly look inwards and do more than just reflect - but question their ability to lead, inspire people, treat people with basic respect ... and whether they themselves are actually the problem? Or is it really the case that absolutely everyone they employ is the issue?
To anyone going through this - know it is not you, you are not alone, and it is the impact of a bullying work culture that has never changed - and I don't think ever will.
