Pros
mission-driven. good network. makes you a magnet for people wanting to support political community-building, which is positive for local and state leadership
Cons
horrible. idiotic. abusive. the people who led our campaign were all from failed campaigns, and it showed. we did not have spanish materials until september/october. the republicans had better spanish materials and before we did... IN FLORIDA?!!! Management was straight up abusive. My team would consistently be cursed out before 11am in the months leading up to the election. The FDP would make sure that we were making unions a key part of our messaging to woo voters, but they would do everything they could to sabotage our union negotiations (sooo hypocritical and icky). This experience made me never want to work in political campaigns ever again.
