Pros
I loved being a consultant. I had the freedom to pick where I went, when it was, and which wines I offered. I loved talking to people about wine and it seemed like a party I got paid for. I always did very well with sales and learned a ton about wine. People in the industry are usually really nice and helpful to each other- lots of networking.
Cons
It is NOT a full time job and they state that very clearly. I did work a LOT during holiday seasons, but you have to be careful as a 1099 not to drive so far that gas and tolls are higher than the amount you make.
