Pros

I joined FSNS a bit ago-years ago. I was in retail and the food service industries. I have a couple years of college classes, but no degree. The retail and food businesses I worked in were dirty, had horrible smells, customers and managers who were just downright mean. They would swear at you, threaten you physically (if the product or food was not what they wanted or the slightest thing went wrong.) For those of you who have been in these businesses you know way I am saying is true! Pay was low – usually something over minimum wage – and I would scrape and claw for more in position and pay. I got married had a kid and both my wife and I worked in these businesses. We barely saw each other and just made ends meet. Usually they tried to keep us part-time so we couldn’t get any benefits and at times had to work multiple jobs just to make it. Some days we only ate at the restaurant. Then, I took a chance and came to FSNS a couple years ago. No one swearing at me over a counter, a clean environment, much higher pay, benefits, nice people who care about me and the customers. I am trying to figure out how to make the school thing work with my family. I see me as a supervisor in the future. Bonus at Christmas will get my kid something nice.

Cons

Yea, there are smells in a lab. I work a lot of hours AND I GET BUCKS FOR IT. I like handing mama the cash. BUT- stand over a fryer, oil drum, clean a trap, work on a customers raggily a- car and then come and talk to me. This place is heaven in comparison.

Pros

Some growth opportunities available depending on location / current lab needs.

Cons

Since it’s part of certified group, upper management does not understand the individual needs of each lab enough to effectively run things. Mandatory overtime at most locations. Not a lot of explanation of how to do certain things or why they are done. Poor wages and terrible health insurance.
