Pros

Pay is decent, hours are good-no weekends.

Cons

Verbally abusive managers, will fire the hardest working employees while others talk and text all day. Very high pressure environment. They fire someone every week for no reason even if that person is completing all of their required duties efficiently and professionally. Dress code is a joke, some wear pajamas and are pierced all over others in business casual. Management expects absolute silence all day and heaven forbid you leave your desk for more than one minute for a bathroom break. They want you to be sick and miserable. Don't even apply. I was fired after asking to have pay taken away instead of making up 2 hours lost when I was sent home by the owner during a snowstorm. Absurd.

Pros

The management attempts to work with you toward your revenue goals, but in the end, you miss your goal every week. If you don't have a shop to take your truck to for repairs, be prepared to rent a truck for a week to keep working. They offer a competitive rental at $80 a day/$400 a week, but they're in no hurry to fix your truck.

Cons

Right now, it's dead. The claims in their post about owner operators averaging $4500 a week is false. They may have 1 or 2 that have been with the company for a number of years making that every week, but overall the owners, myself included, which I have spoken with are fighting, and I mean battling, to make $2500 (Includes your FSC)a week. Most local lanes include lift on and lift off round trip. Their rates are not the greatest. They keep the owner ops on 294/88/355 all the time, reimburse at 50% of tolls, and claim to reimburse at 100% for all other tolls outside IL, another false statement. They claim to pay bobtails, but you have to go through a rigorous process to get it. The dispatcher has to put it in the computer under your move, then you have to call and get a PO for it, then hope to get paid. Gus is a great salesman in selling the company, but they've either lost a major account and haven't told anyone or they've over hired to compensate for what they believe is going to be a very busy freight season. You'll fight every week to make $$$$. Normally, there is 200-300 containers in their yard, yesterday 8/6/15, there was 10, and they were sending people home when they showed up to work, company drivers included. Overall, if you're looking to make good money, this isn't the place to be right now. A year ago, they couldn't find enough people to work, now it's just plain dead. Something's afloat that they're not telling us about. I'd caution anyone considering Fore Transportation, right now. I'm fast tracking a search for a new company to lease on with, as I type this review. Jim Apa is a really nice guy, but I think he's out of touch with day to day operations.
