Pros

I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent as an employee at Forefront for my 6+ years there. There’s always a friendly atmosphere on the development teams whether you are on a internal work call or just chatting at lunch. The members of the team are helpful and it was a great place for me to learn the ins and outs of a project team. If you prove you are good at your job responsibilities it is noticed and you are rewarded for it. As a developer, Forefront’s in-house development tool, “Maestro”, removes a lot of Salesforce development pain points and is one of the aspects of the company I will miss significantly. The work hours and work from home situation are flexible and the benefits package is quite good for a US company of Forefront’s size. During pre-covid times the company hosted weekly Friday lunches from local businesses with lots of wine provided! The company also hosts a yearly Forefront day as a thank you to the employees as well as a New Years Kickoff event to go over the company’s progress and plans for the next year. Both events are a blast with fun activities scattered throughout.

Cons

The work can sometimes get overwhelming when you are needed on many different projects at once, but my manager always tried his best to limit that. There are also lulls in workload, which can be equally tough as billable hours are one of the main metrics of performance. Unfortunately, a developer’s allocated billable hours are not decided by them which can cause some stress when filling out timesheets. Salesforce development is moving towards less and less coding, which is no fault of Forefront, but something to consider when deciding to go into this consulting space. To combat that, Forefront has plans to start up a product division of the company, but this is not operational yet.

Pros

I worked within the Sales Team performing tasks around demand generation. The company is 25 years old and can draw on so many past experiences (successes and failures) to bring value to their customers. Their resources are always working on new skills and certifications to stay current with technology. On top of doing great work for their customers, ForeFront is a family run business and makes every employee feel a part of the family. Even being remote and not getting to physically be with the team every day, I felt heard and that my work and opinion mattered.

Cons

Would have loved to meet the whole FF family, but I came on just after their yearly kickoff powwow. Remote work is the way of the world now, but getting everyone together is always good for team building - the ROI is hard to see on paper, but it's there.
