Pros
Doctors and nurses are amazing! Loved working with them.
Cons
Terrible supervisor. Does not care if you are dying or in the hospital. Will call/text 20 times (with no care of your health or wellbeing) to get you to come into work and basically shame you, even if you’ve never missed a day of work before. Will gaslight you into thinking you are not an efficient worker (because most of us stayed for 10-12 hour shifts everyday to get work done) in reality you have an extremely high caseload while also managing groups with 17+ patients. No time to take lunches because you most likely will have to facilitate a family meeting during this time unless you want to stay even later than you already are. Almost all of the social workers I worked with have also left due to similar issues. Supervisor was purposely trying to get one of my coworkers in trouble and told me that other people were saying that I was unhappy with this worker, which was not true. Basically trying to get me to say something negative about her but I refused because my coworker was amazing. Very very toxic. Supervisor would also call us into a meeting for feed back and to help make decisions on changes. After one meeting the supervisor mentioned that even though she wanted our feedback she was going to decide what worked best regardless of what we said. If you want your confidence and self-esteem to be completely destroyed by management and taint your perspective on being a social worker, this is the place!
