Pros
-Pockets of extremely knowledgeable folks. -Services the full gamut of IT which can provide diverse learning opportunities, especially for those who are starting their career. -Industry average pay with unparalleled PTO (4-6 weeks).
Cons
-Horrible work/life balance. Due to disjointed strategies, low profitability, and fewer and fewer resources, SAs and consultants are overcommitted and often brought into projects that are unrelated to their territory, job description, and pay. -Tons of middle management with elastic, vague job descriptions that seem more focused on justifying their position than in really contributing or providing value. -Intense politicking and posturing. -"Pass the buck" mentality. -Too much "taxation" on sales reps. Being an AM here is like buying a franchise. -Too many cooks in the kitchen when it comes to services - 6 different project managers or consultants on a project leads to a high hourly rate. -Processes are extremely cumbersome - every movement requires 8 steps and 5 people. -Insane non-compete.
