Pros

Sponsorship for the Series 7

Cons

The pay is very very low as a trainee and the payouts as an advisor are laughable. The sales training is absolute garbage you'll find better programs at used car dealerships. The whole business is set up so that Senior guys grow their book of business on the backs of Junior guys. Once you make it past that BS, you realize that the only way these people make money is by churning out client accounts trading house stock (which at any given time, the firm will have massive stakes in thinly traded so any price action is a result of the firm buying or selling stock) and illiquid private placements. They lie to clients and tell the they can get high profile IPO shares, when in reality you're lucky the firm gets 50 shares, if anything. The only time you can fill an order is on house stock IPOs- the ones that pay 4% concessions. All in all, the experience was a complete waste of time.
