Frazer Jones Response
9yFrazer Jones has three Partners, one of whom is female, and one who is gay and an active member of our company LGBT Network. We also have three Directors at Frazer Jones, two of them female, one of whom was promoted into a Director position whilst on maternity leave. We are looking forward to welcoming her back in the office soon.
Our working hours are 8.30-6pm but on Fridays we down tools at 4.30pm for drinks and nibbles, and everyone is free to head off for the weekend at 5pm. We also run quarterly staff events where we finish at midday in order to jet off for a Christmas party, team building event such as a treasure hunt around London or head off to our summer party, this year held at Kensington Roof Gardens.
We have excellent retention levels, our average age of all staff across the London office is 34 and one third of Frazer Jones employees are parents. As such we operate in a grown-up but fun environment with no KPIs. In 2014 we deployed a revised incentive and benefits programme as a keystone of our new vision and focus on employee engagement. This programme includes a ‘modular’ incentive scheme including individual/team bonus incentives, additional quarterly reward thresholds, team stretch targets and a ‘Rookie’ reward scheme; and a comprehensive benefits package which includes pension, healthcare, gym membership, travel, sabbatical after 5-years’ service and a paid-for holiday after 10. We also have a number of mums and dads on flexible working agreements, as well as those that have been granted extended leave periods for adoption or personal leave, and we are proud to say that no reasonable request for flexible working has been declined. As with all recruitment environments, bonus is based on performance and as illustrated with some of the highest retention figures in the market, reward is competitive and fair.
We carry out an bi-annual employee engagement survey. In our most recent survey, conducted in 2015, 85% of our people said that they would recommend us as a great place to work, 86% said they were proud to work for us and 84% said we are better than our competitors.
64% said that the management team communicated effectively with the business which we didn’t feel was good enough, so as a business we have recently launched a new Intranet to further create an inclusive environment and to encourage communication, knowledge sharing and cross-selling.
Inclusion and contribution are two of the defining concepts of our vision. We encourage an environment in which all of our people can make a difference and in return for their contribution we commit to investing more into their individual career and wider experience of life within the company.
We were thrilled to win the Recruiter Investing in Talent Award for Most Effective Team Motivation Event this month, which was awarded for our ‘Crazy 5 in Five’ challenge, which saw our staff and some of clients run a half marathon run every morning for four days then during an afternoon on the fifth day. Some ran every day, some ran their first (and second, and third) half marathon and some shared the distance with a colleague.
The event was a huge fundraising and team-building success, raising over £25,000 for charity and giving our entire UK office the chance to run with or cheer on their colleagues from other teams, brands and divisions. We also take part in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge, stirring up some healthy competition for our colleagues. All of this is supported by a free boot camp training one evening a week, and a free yoga class which takes place over a lunchtime once a week.
For all of these reasons and more, we were awarded the Investors in People Silver level accreditation, the silver accolade awarded to only 6% of IiP holders globally.
If you would like to find out more about working for us, we’d love to hear from you.
