Awful place to work - Assistant Tax Manager Frazier & Deeter Employee Review

Pros

Working from home allowed but you get penalised for it.

Cons

Diversity here is awful. No female partners or directors and very few female managers. You struggle to get ahead if you’re female or not white. Female colleagues are discriminated against compared to the male colleagues (not allowed the same amount of time off for example, despite the “unlimited annual leave” policy). Management is awful. They give feedback only in team meetings and managers will scream at you in front of everyone. No guidance or support given on how to progress within the firm. If you’re not based in the London office, you’re treated as a second class of employee, despite there being two offices for the company. You lose out on opportunities for promotion, development and to work with new clients. It’s the only place I know where your seat at the Christmas party is arranged based on your rank within the business! You’re not allowed to mingle with the higher ups or the US colleagues. Everything is focused on the money and not about providing a good service to clients. You’re regularly threatened with not getting paid if you don’t invoice more that month, despite everyone being a salaried employees. Absolutely awful place to work. I would not recommend.

Pros

Most people are great and flexible with your personal and other work requirements, especially outside busy season

Cons

Communication from upper management isn’t always great, especially to seniors and staff, and workload doesn’t always seem equally spread across seniors and associates

Pros

Very supportive environment and teams, I feel comfortable teams messaging partners and if I have any questions or concerns I know my voice will be heard. Benefits are great, PTO is respected (as long as you set that boundary), and overall wonderful experience so far.

Cons

Like any professional services company there are weeks where you work 50+ hours, weekends, etc. but they do their best to make it happen as little as possible.
