Lack of resource in comparison to larger charities e.g. no team to collect stories from survivors, which makes it hard to fundraise Roles needs to be realistic in terms of what can be achieved - lots of roles have a mish mash of responsibilities, which means you can feel like you're not doing anything well Some teams aren't as effective as they could be, but this isn't always addressed by management

The incredible work that staff do on the ground to support survivors of torture is rewarding and makes a huge difference to people's lives. The therapy, welfare, law, admin and medical professionals work together to form a formidable interdisciplinary support system for clients.

The senior management team are not competent and show absolutely no accountability for their actions. Poor decision making and leadership as well as dictator like behaviour from the top of the organisation has made staff morale at an all time low. Regrettfully, senior leadership, including the CEO, are quick to push blame onto more junior members of staff and scapegoat others to save face. The most concerning behaviours displayed by the senior management include bullying and taking advantage of the kind nature of the front line staff. It is truly dissapointing because the work that the staff on the ground are doing is so invaluable and I had truly not expected the management team in an organisation such as this to conduct themselves this way. Without drastic changes to senior leadership I am sad to say the future of the organisation is uncertain.
