Pros

• Job Stability: Sanitation roles in food manufacturing are essential for operations and compliance, so demand is steady. • Entry-Level Opportunity: Often doesn’t require advanced education—good starting point in food manufacturing. • Health & Safety Importance: You play a critical role in keeping the facility clean, safe, and FDA-compliant. • Overtime Opportunities: Many sanitation jobs in food facilities offer overtime, which can boost income. • Pathway to Advancement: Experience in sanitation can lead to promotions into quality assurance, production, or supervisory roles. • Physical Activity: Active, hands-on work instead of sitting at a desk all day.

Cons

• Physically Demanding: Work involves heavy lifting, bending, scrubbing, and being on your feet for long hours. • Wet/Cold Environments: Sanitation often requires working in damp, cold, or hot conditions depending on the area. • Chemical Exposure: Cleaning chemicals can be strong and require strict safety procedures (PPE must always be used). • Night Shifts Common: Many food sanitation jobs are overnight since cleaning usually happens after production. • Repetitive Work: Tasks can be routine and repetitive, which some people may find monotonous. • Lower Pay Range: Sanitation roles often pay less compared to production or supervisory positions, though overtime can help.

Pros

Great pay, benefits, bonuses. There are a lot of talented and genuinely good people who work for this company. If you work in the office you can get 5 weeks of PTO. Most people are out of the office by 3 or 4.

Cons

As company gets bigger, some perks are disappearing. It happens with any startup.
