Pros

Generous vacation Paid Family Leave Defined Benefit Pension Plan (look it up) Health Savings Account 14 paid holidays per year Nice dedicated intelligent colleagues PT wage at the Frick is a minimum of $20/hr as of this writing. so, yes it is more than the $15 NY minimum wage Recently provided large increases sooner than expected to entry and mid-level professional staff to help combat high inflation. The renovations at the 5th avenue location will provide amenities that have long been sought: a cafe, special exhibition galleries, dedicated education spaces, access to the 2nd floor and a purpose built auditorium. It is also updating infrastructure (heating, electrical etc..) some more than 100 years old. If you say its not needed.. you are uninformed.

Cons

Yes, it is smaller and there is a narrower path to move up. BUT, if you are good, smart and dedicated you opportunities are present and the Frick will do its best to share those with you to help you grow.

Pros

•hourly wage better than similar roles •The Frick really is gorgeous •reciprocity with other museums (so you can see other museums for free and usually can have a guest) •most visitors are really nice

Cons

•Direct management is…mixed. They can be nice but either can’t or won’t stick up for us (and I’m not sure which to be honest) •Senior management treats us with disdain. •Only part time work available (see above) •Limited opportunity to get to know other departments. •Pretty much a bloodbath when there are opportunities for advancement. When you have 50+ part timers who are overqualified, the flaws come out. That’s not specific to The Frick at stuff but I don’t think they do enough to help it either.
