Pros

Firm believer that there are always pros and cons in any environment but this one is challenging. Certainly there are some good people that work within the company that want to do the right thing and have the best intentions. Salaries seemed comparable to others in the industry. The work environment, practices and principals that ownership tolerates are a great way to learn what not to do. Plenty can be learned but unfortunately it’s primarily lessons that you never hope to encounter again in the future.

Cons

Extremely high turnover, negative moral, lack of support, inability of senior management to make timely decisions crucial to the project or local team. Negative company reputation with many of the clients and subcontractors making it almost impossible to carry out successful projects. Extremely slow in subcontractor pay, lack of training, team building or investing in the individuals within the company. Simply put - the turnover rate is unlike any place I have ever worked. New employees come with a great attitude and excitement for the opportunity, to more often than not, feel entirely defeated and ready to move on. Highly encourage any applicant to strongly consider what you want of an organization before accepting employment with GSI Service Group or any of its affiliates.

Pros

While I can only speak for the IT department, the experience here has been has been a rewarding experience, primarily due to the high level of autonomy and trust provided by management. I have the freedom to research, test, and deploy solutions that directly improve our operational efficiency without being micromanaged. The company truly values self-directed learning, allowing me to take on complex projects that have significantly expanded my technical skill set. Beyond the work itself, the culture is incredibly welcoming. The team enjoys great catered lunches and frequent after-work activities, which makes for a cohesive and friendly environment.

Cons

The company is experiencing a period of rapid expansion into larger government contracts. This growth has outpaced some existing internal processes, leading to some organizational growing pains that are currently being addressed as we scale.
