      Superb vacations - long Monthly salary above average slightly Lovely Japanese Professors to work with Foreign staff good calibre Very cordial and collegial Good students Good exchange rate with the US Dollar Right next to the subway station in a lovely part of downtown Tokyo

      Little to complain about Definitely a situation where one group holds all the power and keeps it that way

      Pros

      Nice people, good location in Tokyo, typical freedom accorded to instructors at Japanese universities to create and improvise within a roughly-defined educational framework.

      Cons

      No real advancement opportunities for most teachers. Roughly-defined educational framework means one works within a self-defined bubble, with little input or interaction regarding the overall education product.

      Management is friendly and coworkers are great. Students are awesome. Super happy.

      Only part time available so no benefits.
