Dear Former Colleague,
Firstly, please accept our apologies for the delay in responding to your review, and thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We are pleased to hear that you valued the flexibility of home hybrid working and the benefits available during your time with us. However, we are sorry to learn that your overall experience did not meet your expectations.
We recognise the concerns you have raised regarding leadership, communication, accountability and how colleague feedback was received. Creating an environment where colleagues feel heard, respected and confident in decision-making is important to us and it is disappointing to hear that this was not your experience.
We also note your comments regarding perceptions of personal relationships influencing decisions and concerns around under performance not being addressed consistently. We take matters of fairness and accountability seriously. We have policies, governance processes and oversight in place to ensure that recruitment, promotion and performance management decisions are made fairly, objectively and based on the skills, experience, behaviours and values required for each role.
We do not condone favouritism and any concerns raised in these areas are reviewed appropriately.
We are committed to fostering a culture where colleagues feel safe to speak up, challenge constructively and share feedback openly. Feedback from our annual engagement and DEI colleague surveys reinforces this and helps us understand colleague experiences and identify opportunities for improvement via annual action plans. To support this, we have also delivered psychological safety training across the Bank and continue to encourage open dialogue between colleagues and leaders.
In addition, our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and Wellbeing Forum provides colleagues with a platform to celebrate diversity, promote inclusion, challenge and reduce bias and help foster a culture where everyone feels valued and respected.
As a Bank we continually seek opportunities to improve the colleague experience. Feedback such as yours helps us reflect and identify areas where we can do better. Alongside feedback shared through Glassdoor reviews, we listen to colleagues through our annual colleague engagement and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion surveys, as well as stay interviews and exit interviews. The insights gained through these channels help inform our HR initiatives.
We thank you for the contribution you made during your time with Gatehouse Bank and wish you every success for the future.
