Pros

High quality work Scientific rigor Great people Diverse range of projects and studies

Cons

Rapid growth a few years ago, caused a few people to jump ship, including the old CEO, however 2024 has been excellent and I'm sad in many ways to be leaving - the people here are fantastic

Pros

The people are wonderful to work with and you'll be surrounded by smart and capable individuals. The work is interesting and you'll learn a lot quickly. The working hours are flexible, and as long as you do your job well, no one complains if you have to step away for a doctor's appointment or log off a little early to pick up kids from school. There are some projects with scope or deadlines where you have longer hours or work on the weekends, but it's not the culture that is enforced. Rather, you keep yourself accountable on getting things done. Communicative and self-motivated people will thrive in this environment. Overall, this company provides a flexibility that is much appreciated and was a desirable place to work.

Cons

The company has been financially negligent. Sudden lay offs that are incongruent with work performance and supposed cost margins. It's not a surprise that the state of affairs in the US has caused a trickle down that is affecting many industries, including the ones that Genesis supports. The company could have done more financially before touching the people. Unnecessary spending (keeping the expensive company office that hardly anyone uses, comped office lunches, flying in employees from many parts of the world for company F2F) to losing contract renewals (not entirely the company's fault - clients are slashing entire departments) prompts the question of this firm's longevity and how in touch the C-suite is with the people (there's only 200 or so people).
