Pros
The medical insurance coverage is excellent and cheap. Flex time is available. It's a casual workplace in some departments. You can take a free class every semester.
Cons
If you are a professional who reports to faculty, you will be treated like you are the help; given lots of responsibility with minimal authority; and your professional goals will be of no relevance in polishing the faculty's CV. Pay scale way below similar private sector positions, and Virginia had a salary freeze on for FIVE YEARS.
