Pros
The only real "pro" of working for Giant Eagle is that they will hire anyone who walks in the door. That can be good or bad, depending on who the company hires.
Cons
The company is an insufferably disorganized, confused, directionless, and hypocritical mess. They know they cannot keep up with Wegmans and Meijer. The company handled the renovations in my store terribly. It is ridiculous to expect "team members" to know where items are when they change multiple times a week. Customers have a reason to be upset about the placement of items changing multiple times a week. There really aren't "plenty of opportunities for advancement" at Giant Eagle. Only those who have connections with the higher-ups at the corporation will ever get promotions. The company is nepotistic and doesn't hire people based on merit. Attitudes and behaviors strongly suggest the opposite of "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion." Harassment is rarely addressed by Human Resources. Management never does anything about rude and entitled customers.
