Cons
- Nepotism is still very much alive, be warned.
- Industry standard pay and benefits does NOT mean they're on the cutting edge of the standard. Takes several months for them to adjust.
- Inconsistent enforcement of COVID-19 policy during height of pandemic. Favored employees were allowed to WFH or ignore mask policy all together.
- Unprofessional behavior from management. Behavior that makes it difficult to approach them for any questions.
- Limited career advancement/growth opportunities. Global helps new hires approach the high bar of learning of the ever-evolving oil and gas database system and knowledge they keep, but the ceiling of said knowledge is low to that bar.
- Lack of resources for employees. There is no central handbook for common database/as-builting scenarios. Handwriting notes reinforces learning - until you forget to write something down. Rarely, lack of project-specific resources as well.
