Pros
Develops the "you're on your own with no budget resourcefulness skill set". Whilst it sucks during the hardship, once you get out to a decent company you may weirdly appreciate some of this which will rub off on you eventually.
Cons
Company treats people like a commodity. If you're in Sales and have the right cut throat attitude you will do well and be looked after. If you were part of the old data monitor clique you also will do well unless you royally mess up and don't have a sacrificial lamb to hand when the "proverbial hits". If you don't fit into these categories look elsewhere unless you're desperate for work.
