Pros
Gold Coast IT is ready to give you that jump start that you need to get through the door in the very tough IT market. Their training is great. Instructors are well prepared and will challenge you to complete tasks encompassing a wide variety of technologies. That being said, this is not for everyone. If you are not passionate enough about programming, or you are not willing to put in that extra effort to get up to speed with the content you probably won't even make it through the training period. You need to be ready to step out of your comfort zone, which is sometimes very tough. However, if you're willing to constantly keep learning new things and being exposed to the latest technologies, then this is a place for you. This holds after being placed in a client. You need to be not only ready to apply what you learned during training, but also keep learning and polishing your skills. Salary at first might seem a little low compared to the market average, but if you stick for a while you will realize that annual salary reviews are very generous, provided that you're doing a good job. Lastly, you can always count on John to be there for you if you have any questions or if you feel like you're not learning enough in your current position. He will make sure you are placed in a client where you feel comfortable and that matches the skill set you're aiming for.
Cons
- At times, it just feels that interaction with the company is at a disconnect, especially if you are placed far from HQ. The social gatherings done every now and then are great for networking within the company, but it is just unfeasible to travel hundreds of miles just for a social event. - Benefits could be better.
