Pros
There are some great junior staff and a few good senior staff members to work with. The projects can be interesting and you will get the opportunity to travel to some unique places.
Cons
The Anchorage office is far enough away and isolated enough that regional leadership/ Golder corporate really doesn't have an idea what goes on. People work extremely isolated from each other, struggle with communication, and don't listen to their staff. As a result, there is a significant turnover with junior staff. This is typically swept under the rug and ignored because it's described to the regional leader by the people creating the problems. There is limited opportunity for technical growth unless you are someone's "favorite", and absolutely no Geoscience leadership. Lastly, health insurance benefits are extremely horrible. They use Cigna, and not only are the plans expensive but the deductibles and out of pocket maximums are outrageous. Also working with Cigna is terrible prepare to be on the phone for hours if you have problems with coverage (which there are a lot).
