I was let go after 2.5 months for 'not meeting expectations'. At least just tell me it isn't working out. My so-called exit meeting had zero compassion and no warning. I was let go on a Thursday so wasn't even allowed to finish my final week and it was done four weeks before Christmas. They use probation as an excuse to get rid of people and didn't even give me three full months probation let alone the six they said they would give me. My manager was distant and clearly did not want to see me improve. I was transparent about my physical and mental health issues and how they might effect my performance at interview but it was given no consideration in the brief time I worked there. The managing director acts like the company is doing really well but they had made a whole team redundant just before Christmas. The domestic team I worked for was an afterthought for the company compared to the commercial team and my colleagues were miserable because they clearly knew it. They say they're a B-corp but they act like any other big company - money first, people second. Never felt so undervalued.
