Pros
I'm giving Google Cloud 4 stars because of the huge benefits and opportunties you can gain through the parent company. Take advantage of what the parent company has on offer. Network. Learn from people working for Ads or YouTube, make sure you extend yourself beyond Cloud. Amazing access to tools for an Instructional Designer. Most companies limit tools. You will not be constrained in any arm of L&D at Google regarding tools, eLearning authoring software, and the like. Huge pockets.
Cons
Cloud is like a well-funded startup and it shows. Management, systems, and initiatives are all over the place. They haven't learned how to focus and execute as one. The management layer is spotty. Some are great, professional, caring people who can coach their people into expert level performance. The managers who aren't great....transfer as soon as you can. There's still a bit of the old boys' club going on inside this arm of the company. Overall, top leaders in Cloud don't value education as they should and still see it as useless overhead, when they should be viewing it as invaluable to their employees, customers, partners.
