Pros
We have a positive, supportive team structure where ideas are genuinely heard and often implemented. Leadership is intentional about hiring great people who fit the culture, which makes it easy to enjoy working with everyone on the team. Negative attitudes simply don’t last here. The compensation plan is the best I’ve experienced in sales. It includes a strong base salary, substantial monthly commissions, and a quarterly bonus. For a small company, offering a President’s Club trip (including my spouse) and a $10K annual performance bonus is achievable. Half of the team made presidents club or circle of excellence in 2025. On top of that, I’ve earned a discretionary performance bonus each year based on both company performance and my individual results. Leadership truly listens and invests in the business. They’ve implemented new technology and added sales assistants to remove administrative work from my plate so I can focus on selling. Top performers are recognized, and the owner is hands-on, supportive, and always accessible. The benefits are excellent for a small company. My insurance premium is covered at 90%, and 50% for my family, which saves me over $10,000 per year. They also offer a 401(k) with a company-paid profit-sharing contribution. I have plenty of time off and flexibility to support my kids' school drop-off, pickup, events, and overall balance. I work to maximize the comp plan, not the clock. I work from home and am not micromanaged because I consistently perform. I am in sales, performance matters, and the compensation plan is more than motivating enough. Sales isnt for everyone. My job is to partner and create opportunities, not take orders, and I love that part! Another thing I appreciate: bad clients aren’t tolerated. If someone is rude or disrespectful, we don’t keep them. That makes me feel valued and respected as an employee. Same with co-workers, we spend a lot of time together and it is important to enjoy each other's company.
Cons
Some people prefer the structure and brand recognition that comes with a large corporation. Others prefer the intimacy, accessibility, and influence that a smaller company provides. That really comes down to personal preference. For me, I value not getting lost in a massive corporate structure. I appreciate being known, heard, and having direct access to leadership.
