It's a good place to build a resume. Not much more. - Anonymous employee Granite Telecommunications Employee Review

Pros

If you're a college grad who needs work, a BA will take you pretty far. If you happen to like the culture and are able to work within it, there's some (some) room for advancement. Occasional bonuses. The health plans are very good.

Cons

Management does not listen to / value / care about employees. Everything is metrics: your progress is gauged almost solely on quantity over quality. Management-- especially upper management-- does not understand the carrot and stick reward system. I mentioned there is some room for growth: this is true for perhaps 20% of employees who adapt well to the sales-driven environment. If you are not in that 20%, it does not matter how good you are at your job, just that you're a warm body.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
