Cons

My experience at Grant Fit Out was one of the most difficult and unsettling roles I’ve had. From the outset, there was a consistent lack of professionalism by senior management, including being asked to carry out tasks well outside my role, like fetching my boss breakfast regularly which felt extremely inappropriate and indicative of poor boundaries within leadership. I also found it demeaning as this was a task well below my paygrade. I observed and personally experienced behavior from senior individuals that I found highly concerning. There were situations that I perceived as discriminatory, including treatment that felt influenced by gender, race and religion and comments or conduct that I experienced as inappropriate and, at times, offensive. These issues created an environment where you must fit an unobtainable mould. I also witnessed decisions from senior management that appeared abrupt and lacked transparency, including employees being let go without clear reasoning or communication. This contributed to a sense of instability and made the workplace feel unpredictable especially as it seems to be coming from one particular senior manager. Confidentiality was another very serious concern. During a personally difficult time, I shared sensitive information with my manager, only to find that it quickly became known across the workplace. This experience significantly undermined my trust in leadership and made it difficult to feel respected on a basic level. It is a "family run business" is what they hide behind. Overall, the culture felt unsupportive, with low morale, high turnover, and little evidence of structured growth or employee development. From my perspective, there was a lack of accountability at senior levels, which allowed these issues to persist. Do not attempt to flag this as, in my experience, you will be ostracised. I would strongly advise anyone considering a role here to carefully assess whether this type of environment aligns with their expectations for professionalism, respect, and psychological safety at work.
