Pros
For the past three years, I had been applying to countless companies for internships. Most of the time, I only received rejection emails—or worse, I encountered internship scams where companies demanded money even for the work I had already done. After facing so many disappointments, I was honestly exhausted and had almost lost faith in the whole internship process.
Then a friend of mine referred me to GrapplTech.
To be honest, I was initially a bit scared and unsure about how things would work there. However, I decided to give it a try. The selection process started with an assessment that included 4 coding questions and around 50 MCQs, which tested both programming and fundamental technical knowledge.
After clearing the assessment, I went through multiple face-to-face interviews where different members of the GrapplTech team interviewed me. They thoroughly discussed my resume, technical concepts, and problem-solving approach. The interviews were quite intense, they really grilled me, but it was clear that they were genuinely trying to understand my capabilities rather than just filtering candidates randomly.
Fortunately, I was able to crack the process and secure the internship.
What surprised me the most was that I was mapped to a real client almost immediately after onboarding. This was something I had never experienced before. GrapplTech trusted interns enough to allow them to interact directly with real clients and work on real-world problems.
Initially, it was quite challenging to adapt to production-level development practices. Things were far more complex than what I had learned in college or practiced individually. But the team at GrapplTech supported me throughout the process. They guided me step by step, helping me understand how real backend systems work and how to approach performance issues in production environments.
One of the best parts of the internship was the team collaboration. I got the opportunity to work with a great team on a very interesting project. Through this project, I learned a lot about backend performance challenges, debugging real systems, and building scalable solutions.
Another thing that helped me grow significantly was direct interaction with clients. Those conversations taught me how real requirements are discussed, how problems are framed, and how solutions are delivered in a professional environment.
The stipend support also meant a lot to me and genuinely helped during this journey.
Now, after 9 months at GrapplTech, today happens to be my last day here. Writing this review honestly feels emotional because this internship has been a very meaningful chapter in my career. I’m genuinely sad to leave.
It would have been even more amazing if there were an opportunity to extend the internship into a full-time role, but regardless, the experience I gained here is something I will always value.
The remote work culture, the trust given to interns, and the learning environment truly make GrapplTech special.
I’m writing this review with a heavy heart and with hope that I might get another job soon.
Thank you, GrapplTech, for the experience and the trust.
Cons
It would be better if they provide full time roles too.
