Pros
Will literally hire anyone, job security is pretty good. In recent times the owner has mostly stopped screaming at and belittling his employees when they make mistakes so that’s good I guess.
Cons
This was the most toxic and unprofessional workplace I’ve ever been a part of. Some clients will be uncooperative, rude, verbally abusive, and I have had a few even make gross sexual comments towards me which made me feel very uncomfortable. A couple of the attorneys were courteous and professional, the rest talk down to you and treat you like “the help”. You have to document everything you do because some people try to play “gotcha” and throw you under the bus for mistakes you didn’t even do. They promised performance reviews (the only way to get a raise) every X amount of months but this stopped during COVID and never happened again for most people. The owner got almost $1 million in PPP loans and then took away everyone’s holiday pay even though he didn’t lose any business during COVID. If you work hard and are good at your job you just get micromanaged more by the owner and get given more and more work to pick up other peoples slack. Everyone is overworked because this place has insane turnover and most of the time people who quit don’t get replaced. The owner has no idea what he’s doing most of the time, he gets obsessive with certain employees and will give them a bunch of random assignments and then, completely forgets that he asked them to do all this stuff when they try to follow up with him later! He does this even though people are super overworked so lots of important things get missed all the time. When I was hired he would frequently freak out and throw epic tantrums in the middle of the office, I’ve seen him make a couple people cry due to this and he never apologized.
