Wonderful place for career development. First of all, Green Key was willing to hire me as a junior developer, which many other startups are not willing to do. Kudos for providing an environment where junior devs can get professional experience! I was able to work on a team of people much more experienced than myself where I quickly ramped up my skill set. In the 2.5 years I worked at Green Key, only one other developer was hired at the junior level, so the bulk of the staff is still senior level. This keeps the overall skill level of the team very competitive, while still providing an upward trajectory for any junior developers lucky enough to get in. Speaking of upward trajectory, the company gave me a promotion after just over a year of working, so hard work gets noticed and rewarded. Management frequently asks for feedback on how you think the company is doing, and they sincerely look for your honest opinion. They encourage pushback on bad ideas, and manage to keep ego out of the equation. Whenever I didn't understand the direction a project was going, I had no reservation about letting my supervisor know, and I felt like my ideas were genuinely considered. The team is pretty small, so it is possible to have a large impact on the product direction. You have the ability to come up with solutions yourself and implement them without micromanagement. There are no sales people in the office, so it is kept quiet and focused for productivity. I have been in other offices where the staff act like brogrammers; they talk loudly, listen to music, and throw footballs around the office. Green Key is definitely not that kind environment. If you are looking for a place to get work done and grow your career, Green Key is the place. Other perks include being able to work from home when you want, competitive salary, working with a cutting edge stack, and 20 days PTO.

Customers of Green Key are banks and law enforcement, and both of these industries are very slow at doing anything. This can be annoying if you have a role that interfaces with customers.
