Pros

It was a decent company before 2023. -Nice peers. -Decent work life balance

Cons

Now, it’s a nightmare. First of all, are you aware that productions can now be run 100% by Artificial Intelligence? No actors, no writers, no production workers are required anymore. In fact, it’s even cheaper to produce with AI. Secondly, this company made the dumbest decisions ever. They brought in a couple of investors (Google it), burned all the money from the partners, and now the partners want to fire everyone and sell the product (some lines of code) to the competition. GreenSlate is giving up, and the investors just want to get some of their money back because they believe this doesn’t have any future. I was fired because I predicted AI would kill this industry. Their CEO and owner was just an accountant who got some money from the investors and hired people to put everything in the cloud. It’s a simple product with many SaaS products connected. It’s expensive to keep this product up and running without customers. Go to their LinkedIn GSlate page and watch their videos. That guy doesn’t sound, and isn’t, very smart.

Pros

During my time at the company, I had the chance to work with some truly talented and dedicated people. I gained valuable experience and took pride in the work we accomplished together.

Cons

After nearly a decade of commitment, I was laid off during a company-wide reduction due to an industry slowdown. The way it was handled was deeply disappointing. The layoff was announced over a brief Google Meet call where no one was allowed to ask questions or say anything at all. It felt incredibly cold and impersonal. After giving so much of my time, energy, and loyalty, it was devastating to be let go in such a distant and dismissive way. It made me feel like all those years of contribution meant very little in the end.
